Care Instructions

To ensure you get the most enjoyment out of your custom-made, beautiful scented candles, please follow these simple instructions:

Trimming
Trim the wick to 6 mm before each burn (i.e. close to the wax surface). This will stop that dirty black residue effect on the glass which is due to burning of the wick soot.

The First Burn
Soy wax candles have a burn memory - if you blow them out too soon after lighting then you will get regions of unmelted wax around the edge of the vessel.

We recommend that you burn your candle for 1 hr for every 2½ cm diameter of the vessel, before extinguishing (ie: 5 cm candle = 2 hr burn before blowing it out).
This allows wax around the wick to melt all the way to the edge of the glass. The benefit is your candle will look cleaner and burn for longer.

Frosting
We use this term to describe the white coating that appears on your soy candles. This natural phenomenon unique to vegetable waxes, is the natural wax re-crystallizing and trying to return to its natural state.

All pure soy wax candles frost and is a sign that we are using 100% natural soy wax, rather than including additives into the mix. Note that frosting will become more pronounced the longer your candles are left unused, however it does not affect the burning performance of your candle.

You can minimise frosting by keeping the candles in stable temperature environments.

Cleaning
Simply clean the vessel in warm soapy water to attain a beautiful vessel for re-use.

We hope you love your candles and remember, if you choose not to re-use your candle vessels for another purpose, we offer a discounted wax re-fill service. Drop us a message for more information.
